About
In October and November 2008 I attended a barrage of trade shows. During that period, I took a deep-dive into what makes a good elevator pitch. I posted my original experience and research on my blog www.idonato.com. Like many good things, the idea took off. The focus of PitchCrafting is to bring information, examples and a deconstruction of the process of succeeding with an elevator pitch. Unlike traditional thinking a good pitch can be formulated in a short time. In addition, it can measured and coached.
Today, PitchCrafting is run by Donato Diorio (me) and Dan Hughes
Dan & I met in 2002, shortly after I founded Broadlook Technologies. I had a great set of technology and a pitch just good enough to get Dan to join the team. Dan kept ask me “Do you realize what you have here?” I said yes. Thinking back, now I realize that I didn’t. Broadlook now has 1000′s of clients world-wide. With Dan’s sales leadership, Broadlook has continued to grow and be recognized as an innovator in sales & recruiting solutions.
Dan has always encouraged me to get away from the day-day sales (which I love to do) and put my feet up and think. My passion is the deconstruction and reassembly of ideas. Usually, conventional wisdom is a victim when true thought is exerted on a problem. PitchCrafting is the first non-Broadlook project that Dan and I are working on.
The evolution of PitchCrafting.com will be a web portal that will allow the self-service pitch training. It should be fun.
